History

Vivianne Metzger Antiques was opened in 1996 by Vivianne and Bill Metzger from Charleston, SC. They were originally in business for 5 years on King Street in Charleston, SC. After they discovered the beauty and serenity of the NC mountains, the couple moved to Cashiers, NC and have had the shop there ever since that move.

The rustic cottage that houses Vivianne Metzger Antiques today was built by Greene & Associates. Vivianne designed the building to reflect what she saw throughout the countryside of England; Quaint and charming!

Vivianne and Bill traveled annually to England to hand-pick their collection of antiques and began importing in 2000.  Bill had a vision to add a 2,000 square foot warehouse in 2007 to allow them to buy and display a larger assortment of antique treasures found during their shopping excursions.

The expansion of the business in 2007 included the addition of their daughter and son-in-law, Cherie and Bill Tibbetts as co-owners. The foursome continued to expand their travel throughout Europe to find special antique pieces that only an expert can find.  Even today, they are constantly searching new towns & villages throughout England and France to find new sources of unique and high pieces.
